Upper Hutt Branch is opposed to the proposed Land Exchange that is in place between Upper Hutt City Council and Guildford Timber Company for the exchange of Silverstream Spur (owned by Upper Hutt City Council), for a block of steep land in Pinehaven, so GTC can put in an access road to develop the spur for building and also along the top of their land in Pinehaven.

F&B UH want the spur to be retained in UHCC ownership and developed as a native reserve with public access to act as part of an ecological corridor across the valley at Silverstream to link the eastern side of the valley with Keith George Memorial Park on the western side.
