Double funding for pest-control

Next year is going to be a tough year for our native birds with a ‘mega-mast’ event is unfolding in forests around the country thanks to warmer temperatures. In mast years trees flower and seed very heavily, which boosts rodent and stoat numbers – spelling disaster for our native birds like the kōkako and kiwi. The money set aside for predator control by the Government will not be enough. Join us in calling on the Government to double funding for predator control in 2019 so we can keep our native bird nests and chicks safe from stoats & other pests. With budgets being set for next year, now is the best time to have our say.
