This year's South Island gathering will be hosted by the North Canterbury Branch over the weekend of 2-3 November. The venue will be the Christchurch Bridge Club on Barbadoes St, Christchurch. There will be an informal get-together on the evening of Friday 1 November for those who arrive that day. The programme can be downloaded from the link below. The theme of the gathering is: Mountains to the Sea - Ki Uta Ki Tai
The weekend will be filled with stimulating presentations and discussions on a range of conservation topics affecting Canterbury and Aotearoa. You'll hear about how kea are doing, our wonderful braided rivers and native forests, and the effects of irrigation schemes on the environment. Penguin rehabilitation, land reclamation after an earthquake, and the estuaries and wetlands of Canterbury will also be showcased.
