Nature-themed artwork and poetry by 26 New Zealand writers and artists, inspired by 13 of Forest & Bird’s nature reserves throughout Aotearoa, will be showcased at a public exhibition this February.
The stunning pieces were created for 26 Forest & Bird Centennial: a creative conservation project that aims to harness the power of art and poetry to inspire and connect New Zealanders with te taiao nature, as part of Forest & Bird’s Centennial Celebrations.
The project was run in collaboration with 26, a global not-for-profit writers’ collective that establishes projects around the world, most recently focusing on environmental and climate issues.
You can find out more about the project and view all the published works to date here.
Join us at Lopdell House in Auckland to view the art, hear live poetry readings and meet the writers and artists who volunteered their time and talents to conservation.
This event is free to enter but spaces are limited for the opening and live readings between 12pm and 2.30pm, so please RSVP here If you just want to view the art and read the Centena yourself, you don’t need to RSVP.
