Seven years of Ark in the Park – by Gillian Wadams, manager Ark in the Park
Gillian has been managing our largest conservation project in Auckland for the last seven years, a good part of the 16 years of the project’s existence. She will use this occasion to give an overview what has happened in those years, with several translocations, expansions, challenges and successes. Gillian will reflect the current status of the project and look forward to the future.
This will be an important update and overview of one of the flagship Forest & Bird projects, for volunteers at the Ark wanting to learn a bit more to everyone who is interested in how to grow project to its current size of over 2200 hectares, with 4800 bait stations and 500 traps, all serviced mainly by a dedicated team of 400+ volunteers, some of whom have been with the project since it’s inception.
