We really need to bring clean freshwater back to Canterbury. Consents for massive pollution discharge from irrigation schemes and intensive agriculture could be rolled-over in non-notified consent processes that lock-in another ten years of damaging pollution. This needs to stop.
In the face of mounting international evidence about the human health impacts of nitrogen in drinking water, and rates rises for freshwater clean-up, we simply cannot continue with business as usual in Canterbury. We can, and must, have clean safe water again. We need ECan to act now.
