The project will be wrapping up for Forest and Bird and Working Waters Trust in April or May next year due to most of the plants reaching maturity, and scaled-back plans for the wetland. The landowner is keen to carry on plans for the wetland area - including installing a narrow-gauge train for friends and family to tour the mudfish wetland. It will be sad to pass this project, however it is good to see that juvenile mudfish are utilizing the new habitat already!
The next working bee will be the 2nd December, with monthly working bees over this summer and autumn.
Contact Bridget from Working Waters Trust at coordinator@workingwaters.org to sign up.
