Kea, the world's only alpine parrot, is now listed as Threatened - Nationally Endangered; the second-highest threat level in New Zealand. Lead poisoning continues to be one of the biggest threats to the kea. Renee Habluetzel will talk about the Kea Conservation Trust work in Arthurs Pass on the lead removal project, which has Jobs-for-Nature funding and is running throughout the South Island.

Supper and a chat afterwards.

There are a few 2023 Forest and Bird Diaries left - $24.99 if purchased at meeting (please bring cash) otherwise $30 pp inclusive (to order email francesmwall@gmail.com)
