Help Restore Native Biodiversity to “The Sanctuary”. (30 Hectare ECan Reserve on the banks of the Waimakariri River - off Coutts Island Road).
Forest and Bird North Canterbury Branch with ECan Rangers, are planting native trees and plants to provide a habitat and food for native birds, lizards, insects and fish. We would love more volunteers to help with the mahi.
- Park at the gate at the end of the seal on Coutts Island Road (See map).
- Register at 9.30 am
- Walk to planting site ( 10 minutes).
- Planting 10 - 12 noon.
A quick introduction and demonstration will take place at 10 am. Cuppa and baking afterwards. Some spades are available but bring your own if you have one. Bring your own gloves. Please stay home if unwell. The sites have been stripped of vegetation so planting is relatively easy.
Please register your intentions and which day you are attending to the above email or phone number.
