Mary Thompson and Bruce McKinlay from Birds NZ will introduce the project, talk about the findings so far, and explain how you can be involved.
During the next five years the task is to carry out at least one bird survey each season within each major habitat in every 100 km square grid over the whole of New Zealand.
Anyone who can identify birds can take part and record observations via the eBird Atlas online database.
The data gathered will be used for conservation planning for decades to come.
Indoor meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm. Please be on time as we have to hold the door open to let people in.
