Join Forest & Bird's Dunedin Branch for a field trip to Sutton Lake Salt Reserve near Middlemarch.
This is New Zealand's only inland salt lake. It is surrounded by spectacular parallel rock tor ridges with views across to the Rock and Pillar Range
We will explore winter colors and plant adaptations at the reserve and look for the wading birds that are sometimes present.
The loop track to the lake and back is an easy 3.5 km walk.
