The Ngaruroro River in Hawke's Bay is one of the very few braided rivers in the North Island with a braided system that remains intact. In the upper reaches the river is pristine, and throughout the entire length of the river, the water quality is very high. The entire river, including the Clive river, provides rare and important habitat for native birds and fish.
New Zealand has very few rivers like the Ngaruroro and Clive left. Please send an individual submission below to the EPA in support of Forest & Bird’s application for a Water Conservation Order to protect these rivers.
