The third area in which we do monthly bird counts is Booth’s Wetland, a privately owned area between Highway One and the railway line.
This wetland was created as a conservation area by member Geoff Booth.
The wetland was previously pasture, and Geoff and his wife Pat have plugging drains on his farmland.
The new wetland is being naturally repopulated with bird species such as native ducks and dab-chicks.
