The Sanctuary is an ECan reserve on the Christchurch side of the Waimakariri river. Help Brad Smith the ECan ranger for The Sanctuary to restore biodiversity to the area by planting native trees.

On 13th August, Forest and Bird are joining with Sustainable Coastlines to plant native plants at Kaiapoi Island along the banks of the Waimakariri river. Meet at 9.45am, planting 10-12.30, lunch provided afterwards.

The next opportunity to get involved in planting will be at the Eves Valley Reserve on Sunday 31st July starting at 9am. The postponement date is Sunday, 7th August.
