Pearl Creek Working Bee - 8:30 am to midday.

Ruby Moore, freshwater ecologist and collections Manager Natural Sciences at the Auckland Museum -  The importance of fresh water streams in Auckland

Forest and Bird and Sumner Environment group are working with the Christchurch City Council to restore native bush to this CCC reserve behind Sumner. All working bees are at the lower Mahoe-nui site.

Philip Simpson will talk on the ecology, forest, and birds that are present in the Abel Tasman National Park and his new book  'Down the Bay'.

A walk through Department of Conservation Mainland Island of Boundary Stream.

Camp at  St James Station, a former high country sheep and cattle station.  The station was purchased by the government in 2008 as a means of protection from intensive farming and development as well as guaranteeing public access.

Our next branch meeting is at New Coasters/CoRe, 38 Albert Street, Greymouth 

Please bring a plate for a shared lunch.

Visit a local white flippered penguin colony. Learn more about these delightful birds from Kristina and Thomas who run Christchurch Penguin Rehabilitation. The trip entails a 40 minute walk each way, climbing up and down a ladder, and over rocks.

Early Christmas get-together for members – new and old. Nibbles and drinks at Zookeepers, Tay Street, Invercargill, 5pm-6pm. 

The project will be wrapping up for Forest and Bird and Working Waters Trust in April or May next year due to most of the plants reaching maturity, and scaled-back plans for the wetland.
