Te Rere Penguin Count. To book contact Brian Rance. 

Visit a local white flippered penguin colony. Learn more about these delightful birds from Kristina and Thomas who run Christchurch Penguin Rehabilitation. The trip entails a 40 minute walk each way, climbing up and down a ladder, and over rocks.

Early Christmas get-together for members – new and old. Nibbles and drinks at Zookeepers, Tay Street, Invercargill, 5pm-6pm. 

The project will be wrapping up for Forest and Bird and Working Waters Trust in April or May next year due to most of the plants reaching maturity, and scaled-back plans for the wetland.

On the 2nd of December KCC (Junior F&B members) are planning to meet at 11.30am at Cable Bay (Pepin Island side) for some rock pooling and to see who can find the most interesting creature.

Paul Bensemann has documented the long battle to save the forests and the book "Fight For The Forests" is being launched at the Craig Potton Gallery at 5.30pm on 22 November.  

Come and see the real Avondale spider! Arachnologist (spider specialist) Grace Hall will bring some living spiders along for her talk on our native eight legged friends.

Gerry Kessels will speak about Zambia, a country of incredible biodiversity and huge conservation challenges. Come and hear how these challenges are met in a country so very different from ours. A talk not to be missed.

Leave Hamilton at 8.00, drive via Karangahake Gorge; turn right shortly before Waikino, drive to Waitawheta Camp (former school) and turn right again, park at end of Franklin Road at 9.30.

Eco-Fun Day at Bushy Point and Southland Community Nursery (park at 183 Grant Road car park) and pick up your eco-pack from the Education Centre.
